We’re offering Assisted Shopping Trips for Seniors in light of the current situation. Please find the details below.

Seniors Assisted Shopping

To help seniors in the Canberra community shop for their essential supplies, we are offering assisted shopping trips twice a day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We will take a small number of clients to the grocery store (Gungahlin Woolworths and Mawson Woolworths):
  • 7:30 am – 9 am OR 11 am – 12:30 pm.
  • Starts Wednesday 1 April 2020.
  • Two staff members will assist with shopping.
  • Each client will be taken to and from home.
  • No limit to how many times you go.
  • Ongoing until advised otherwise.

This service is also available to you if you’re not registered with us. We can do an over the phone registration and then book you in.

Social and Recreational Programs, Domestic Assistance and Community Access for Seniors

We offer a variety of programs and activities each month. Whether you are after gentle exercises, interesting excursions, informative talks, arts and crafts, looking to join a Men’s Group or much more, we have something for you. Our monthly programs are available for download below.

My Aged Care

We also offer Domestic Assistance and Community Access services which help frail, older people to maximise their independence.

My Aged Care can assess your eligibility for a funded place in our services under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme.

Other regular activities

All activities have been cancelled until further notice in light of COVID-19.

Our sing-a-long provides a great opportunity for seniors to socialise and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and bingo. A variety of entertainers, including Sing Australia, Karaoke and Belly Dancing, perform each fortnight and a jukebox plays a variety of music, including all the old-time favourites.

The Women’s Neighbourhood Group is a friendly, informal social group for women of all ages. The Group supports the Australian Federal Police and Canberra Hospital with donations of hand-made Trauma Teddies and rugs. The Group also provides donations of handmade adult bibs and crochet knee rugs to residential aged care facilities.
