About the role

 The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for the delivery of Communities@Work's communication activities, including writing for diverse audiences, administration of social media channels, fundraising communications, media communications, public relations and other communication and marketing tasks as required. 

Duties 

  •  Develop and maintain Communities@Work content delivery for all external audiences including: the website; newsletters for clients and stakeholders; media releases and articles; and other content as required
  • Deliver Communities@Work social media strategy and content for social media including: text; images, video and sound; story development; tone of voice; moderation; customer queries and ongoing monitoring of social media channels
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders such as media, partners, donors, corporate supporters on partnerships, promotions and fundraising support
  • Lead the Communications and Marketing team to deliver communication and marketing executions and activations to internal program and service stakeholders
  • Assist in the planning of events to ensure all logistics and materials required for the successful implementation of the event are in place
  • Evaluate and report on the outcome of the event from a planning perspective and where possible offer guidance and help on how future events could be executed better
  • Liaise with contract suppliers and event bodies to project manage events and campaigns, for example liaising with the relevant authorities on traffic management

Skills and Experience 

Essential 

  • Maintain current 'Working with Vulnerable People' registration
  • Relevant marketing or communication qualification and experience
  • Experience and skill across various social media channels
  • Experience and skill writing content for diverse audiences
  • The capacity to be well organized and manage multiple tasks across diverse programs.
  • The ability to be customer focused and flexible.
  • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail and proven high level organisational and time management skills including the ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to challenges, and to work effectively in a small, diverse and busy team environment.

Desirable

  • Current driver's licence
  • An understanding of the community and/or charity sector
